JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM for 2026<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Royal Hobart Golf Club Inc. (\u201cthe Club\u201d) is delighted to present the Royal Hobart Golf Club Junior Scholarship Program for 2026. \u00a0Due to the foresight and generosity of the Club\u2019s members this opportunity is possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AIM OF THE PROGRAM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Club\u2019s Strategic Plan for 2022-2026 encourages the Club to offer a range of participation options for juniors and young adults.\u00a0 The Club has also committed to keeping our \u201coffering\u201d fresh and moving with the times \u2013 be innovative!\u00a0 The opportunity to offer a Junior Scholarship program across all genders and abilities is seen by the Club as an important step to being an integral part of our community and having an intergenerational focus to ensure that the Club not only prospers into the future but provides opportunities and enjoyment for generations to follow.<\/p>\n<p>Under the tutelage and guidance of a PGA Professional, preferably the Club\u2019s PGA Professional, along with support of the Club membership, scholarship holders will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advance their golf skills through ongoing coaching;<\/li>\n<li>Use the Club\u2019s practice facilities (including on course practice outside competition times);<\/li>\n<li>Reduce their handicap;<\/li>\n<li>Play in Club competitions;<\/li>\n<li>Compete intrastate or interstate in junior golfing tournaments; and<\/li>\n<li>Form lifelong golfing friendships with other golfers and members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM OUTLINE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Scholarship recipients will work with one of the Club\u2019s PGA Professionals to develop a program of tuition, practice and tournament play which aligns with the study and family commitments of the scholarship recipient.*<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Scholarship recipients will work with one of the Club\u2019s PGA Professionals who will assess the equipment needs of the scholarship recipient.*<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>*<em>Recipients that work with a PGA Professional not based at the Club will be required to submit a development program and detailed equipment requirements for approval\/endorsement by the Club\u2019s PGA Professional.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong><strong>TIMELINES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Scholarship program will start at the beginning of 2026.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p><strong>Item<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p><strong>Date<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>Applications close<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>31 October 2025<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>Interviews (if required) to take place<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>November 2025<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>Successful scholarship recipient\/s advised<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>December 2025<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>Presentation of Club shirts, caps etc. provided to successful recipient\/s<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>19 December 2025<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>Scholarship program starts<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"312\">\n<p>January 2026<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must reside in Tasmania and preference will be given to applicants who reside in Southern Tasmania to ensure that the successful recipient is able to fulfill their responsibilities at the Club;<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed golfing skills considering the age of the applicant;<\/li>\n<li>Potential to achieve at amateur or professional level of golf;<\/li>\n<li>Prior golf performance record;<\/li>\n<li>A knowledge and acceptance of Club and golfing etiquette;
